RETAIL BOOTFITTER

(Full-time and part-time positions available)

We are a specialist ski tuning, repair, retail, boot fitting business based in Revelstoke, British Columbia. Our aim is to provide a high level of service and to aid our clients in having a positive experience while visiting Revelstoke.

With over 30 winter seasons of tuning experience at all performance levels, the owner will provide ongoing tune and repair training to successful candidates.

The position of Retail Bootfitter will be responsible for delivering personalized ski boot fitting services. Working hands-on with customers to access fit issues, perform custom modifications, and ensure every skier leaves with boots that enhance comfort, control and performance. This role requires both technical skill and a passion for helping people get the most of their time on snow. Other duties will include selling retail items and following opening/closing procedures. The Retail Bootfitter must possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests. The Bootfitter must also multi-task, be detail-oriented, and be able to problem solve to effectively deal with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, secure and safe work environment

  • Perform daily maintenance and cleaning duties

  • Assess bootwork and provide appropriate modification recommendations

  • Perform high quality boot modifications for customers

  • Meet modification work deadlines

  • Properly assess customer foot shape and ski ability in order to select the best boots for their needs

  • Communicate with customers regarding various boot types, boot features, modifications, etc.

  • Develop an effective approach to suggesting appropriate ski boots and modifications

  • Gain required product knowledge to answer customer and/or equipment-related questions

  • Ensure boot area and repair shop remains stocked with essential supplies

  • Manage boot fit and modification appointments

  • Assist retail floor when necessary

    Requirements

  • Eligible to work in Canada

  • Previous boot fitting experience required

  • Understanding of foot anatomy and physiology is required

  • Ski shop retail experience required

  • Experience in customer services
